The verdict- Rest Day Friday.

Hello everyone!

Well, I ended up taking a rest day for Friday.  After I wrote that contemplating blog post, I actually fell asleep here at the computer for a while, then woke up to shower, then passed out in bed.  I guess my body was really just saying NO.

So, this week, Sunday and Friday are pulling a switcheroo.

Today will be my 5th day of Meta- I will still be moving to level 2 on Friday as planned.

Also- if you are doing Meta or a similar program and you need an early rest day, TAKE IT. Don't risk injury and listen to your body.

Have a great Saturday!!!!

Thinking about taking an early rest day

Hello everyone!

Today was a very hectic, long Friday.

I woke up at 6 am, worked from 8-5, came home, walked the dog, made dinner and here I am.

I am sitting here, full from dinner, trying to decide if I should take a rest day or not instead of Sunday.

All kinds of thoughts going on now-

I'm sleepy.
I'm tired.
I don't want to exercise.
If I don't exercise, I'll feel guilty.
Do I really want to do anything on Sunday?

And so on.

So here I am contemplating- man the fuck up and try to push through my workout and hope that I can finish, or be a lazy bum tonight and work out on Sunday- meaning 8 straight days without a rest.  That doesn't sound too hot either. Hm.

I will update with the result- Working out- Did I or didn't I?

Have a good Friday night!

Today makes 5!

Hello everyone!

So I finished my 4th day yesterday and I made another change- for kicks, I did Meta DC on the floor.  I think I will keep doing it because I feel like I got much more of a workout- more sweat for sure.  I think I will tack on the rebounder at the end and keep working at the endurance until I hit 30 minutes and eventually do 30 dancing and 30 jumping, then eventually, one day, be able to dance full octane for a whole hour.

I did weigh myself again today, no change from yesterday BUT I do feel like my stomach is more sucked in, I see dents in my thighs and arms, and some changes in my lower legs as well. Very exciting!!!!

I actually look forward to tonight's workout except for the fact that I have to do it in the evening (I had work today). I really prefer daytime workouts but the important part is that I get it in.

Have a great Friday!!!!

Finished 3 days!

Hello everyone!

I successfully finished 3 days of Metamorphosis- going to do day 4 today. (86 more workouts to go...)

Another curiosity weigh in- I have lost a total of 4.2 pounds since Monday. (I know I shouldn't weigh every day but I get too curious) I actually feel lighter today and more tight and less hurting. Also I am actually feeling more inclined to work out.

Today I am going to do another 25 reps and try for longer on the rebounder.   I will update again tonight with how I do!

Not much to say today, also I should be receiving my continuity 1.3 discs today. Excited!

Have a great day everyone and get your workout in!

Tracy Anderson Pregnancy Leg/Butt Preview!~

Hello everyone!!

I just finished my MS work today- Level 1 day 3! I finally got up to 25 reps!   I am going to head onto the rebounder (will update on that tonight) and walk to and from school (an hour of walking!)

I just saw online that Molly Sims posted the leg portion of the Pregnancy Workout preview~~!

Enjoy! I'm off to do some bouncing- Have a great day!

Ideas...

Hello everyone!

I've been thinking about making two blogs a day, to keep things more current. It's an idea I've been thinking about for a while,

From now on usually there will be multiple posts a day- two or more, depending on how the day goes. (If I find an interesting article, etc)

So, let me ask you guys:  Is there anything you'd be interested in reading about, other than my daily progress?  Any topics you'd like to see covered?

If so, post in the comments!!!

Have a good day~

Day 2 done!!!

Hello everyone!

I finished my MS work- 20 reps per leg still but it KILLED. I felt it all over and 20 really was a struggle. I will always try to up my reps but if I can't, I can't.

I have also done 10 minutes of rebounding, still sets my calves (but not my joints) ablaze.

I also had a thought. Since I CAN step touch DC on the floor (but somehow can't make 10 minutes on the trampoline without breaks) I have been thinking of doing the Meta DC step touching and then tack on whatever rebounder stuff I can do to build it up.  I feel like 10 minutes just isn't quite enough cardio no matter how you slice it, especially when you have a lot to lose like myself.  I think that unless I am walking to school (an hour total) I will be doing that extra dancing.  The ultimate goal, of course, is 60 minutes of jumping floor dance.

But just thought I'd let you guys know I DID work out! Have a great day!!!!!

Wow. Serious workout is serious.

Hello everyone!

I had no idea how rough my workout yesterday was, until this morning especially.

I didn't sweat much doing the trampoline but I definitely felt it.  I ended up going to bed very early last night and even almost falling asleep in class!  My normal bedtime is around midnight or later, but I was out like a light at 10:30.

This morning I have not felt so sore in a long time. My ribs, my butt, my abs, everything is sore. Not in a debilitating way but an "I got a good workout" way.  Out of curiosity, I weighed myself, no gain, no loss, but I feel a bit tighter everywhere.

So, eating breakfast now and then going to man up and get more workouts done!

Will post later. You should go work out too!

Have a great day!

Bouncing away!

Hello everyone!!!

Well, I just got my workout in.  I did my level 1 day 2 metamorphosis with 20 reps of each leg move.

Now on to the rebounder.

I was surprised at how... unable I was to finish all 30 minutes.  This is my first time on a rebounder in a long while.

First, I tried doing the workout in my shoes. Bad idea. My feet started to really hurt on the sides, probably because they are meant to align overpronating  feet, leaving me with a semi-unstable surface even with the shoes.  Lasted 3 minutes that way.

Took shoes off, felt better.

Lasted another 3 minutes, then my calves really needed a break.

I finally lasted a total of 10 minutes and my legs were just saying they have had enough.

I also couldn't do all of the fancy moves she does in the workout... Yet.  I spent my 10 minutes just doing basic jumps/jumping jacks and trying to build up my strength.

Have any of you done any rebounder work, and was it easy the first time?  I will be trying again, of course, tomorrow.  Tonight I will also do some walking to and from class (after a nap!)

Have a great day! Looking forward to tomorrow's workout!

Pre-Meta Measurements and Weight

Hello everyone!!!

Today I start (again) my Metamorphosis journey. I have my tracker printed out (I will be folding it up and putting it in a binder- the other calendar pages are going to  be my continuity pages) and ready to go.

Here are my Day 1 measurements:

Bust: 48.5 inches
Waist: 46 inches
Hips: 52.5 inches
Arm: 17.25 inches (measuring the left side)
Thigh: 30.25 inches (left)
Weight: 280.9 lb

I will be updating these after every level of Meta that I finish.  I also have before pics but those will be shown later on when I have lost some significant weight.

I am also going to try rebounding today.  I have a place to do it and I still want to use my old rebounder for now, just to see. I will definitely let you guys know how that went!

Have a great day- I'm getting ready to work out!

Childhood Obesity and Dieting... How much is too much?

Hello everyone!

I was browsing on Yahoo and I came across this article: "Vogue article by mom about 7-year-old daughter’s weight sparks heavy backlash"

In the article, the author, a socialite named Dara-Lynn Weiss wrote about when her daughter's doctor told her that she should be put on a more careful diet because at 4'4 and 93 pounds, she is considered obese.

This is not what people find controversial.  What she does about this weight problem is what is angering people.

"Sometimes Bea's after-school snack was a slice of pizza or a gyro from the snack vendor," Weiss wrote. "Other days I forced her to choose a low fat vegetable soup or a single hard-boiled egg. Occasionally I'd give in to her pleas for a square of coffee cake, mainly because I wanted to eat half of it. When she was given access to cupcakes at a party, I alternated between saying, 'Let's not eat that, it's not good for you'; 'Okay, fine, go ahead, but just one'; and 'Bea, you have to stop eating crap like that, you're getting too heavy,' depending on my mood. Then I'd secretly eat two when she wasn't looking."

It gets crazier-

"I once reproachfully deprived Bea of her dinner after learning that her observation of French Heritage Day at school involved nearly 800 calories of Brie, filet mignon, baguette, and chocolate. I stopped letting her enjoy Pizza Fridays when she admitted to adding a corn salad as a side dish one week. I dressed down a Starbucks barista when he professed ignorance of the nutrition content of the kids' hot chocolate whose calories are listed as "120-210" on the menu board: Well, which is it? When he couldn't provide an answer, I dramatically grabbed the drink out of my daughter's hands, poured it into the garbage, and stormed out."

Stormed out of a Starbucks over a range of 80 calories.   Her daughter, Bea, also spoke in the interview after having lost 16 pounds-

"That's still me," she says of her former self. "I'm not a different person just because I lost sixteen pounds." I protest that indeed she is different. At this moment, that fat girl is a thing of the past. A tear rolls down her beautiful cheek, past the glued-in feather. "Just because it's in the past," she says, "doesn't mean it didn't happen."

Lastly, Dara-Lynn had this to say-

"I have not ingested any food, looked at a restaurant menu, or been sick to the point of vomiting without silently launching a complicated mental algorithm about how it will affect my weight," Weiss admitted. "Who was I to teach a little girl how to maintain a healthy weight and body image?"

What are your thoughts on this? For all of you moms and dads- if your child was obese, how would you handle it?

Resting up... But why?

Hello everyone!

I am starting Metamorphosis again tomorrow, I got re-motivated partly by the fact that my Continuity 1.3 is on the way (I should be getting it tomorrow actually).

We all know we need to rest every so often while working out, but how many of us know why?  I really didn't know why until I did some reading.

There's more to it than just resting the muscles, although that's a big reason and there's reasons within that too.  When you exercise, the muscles are actually getting broken down, not build. Building the strength comes on that rest day/other times when you rest.

Resting at least once a week helps prevent injuries that can cause you to take a really long rest, even up to having to take months off of exercise.  Not worth it! Take your rest days ladies! When you over train there is way too much stress on the body and eventually you just start getting hurt a lot easier.

Last, but definitely not least is the matter of your mental health.  Even the most hard core exerciser will eventually get burned out if they continue working out strenuously EVERY day.  Taking a day off gives you time to have some "You" time and gets you mentally prepared for the following day's workouts.

What happens when you don't rest? Over training.  How do you know if you are overtraining?

1. Irritability
2. Constant soreness
3. Getting sicker, easier
4. Constantly tired even if you've slept
5. Lacking ability to concentrate
6. Excessive weight loss

If you really feel the need to move on your rest days, you could do so but something light- such as light swimming, stretching, or gentle yoga.

The article I read about this can be found here-  http://www.livestrong.com/article/513887-do-i-need-a-break-day-when-exercising/

First P90X, then Tracy, now Jillian?

Hello everyone!

I don't have much to say about my own progress today, but I did come across this commercial-  Jillian Michaels now has a 90 day program out.

It seems like everyone's trying the 90 day thing every since P90X- including Tracy (which I call T90X).

I don't think I will be buying this- I already spent money and stuff for Metamorphosis- My continuity 1.3 is on the way right now!   Will any of you be buying it, or thinking of buying it?  Post in the comments!

Have a great Saturday!!!!!

First Glimpse at Pregnancy Workouts!

Hello everyone!

Quick blog post today- I'm at work, but I noticed that on MollySims.com there is now a short video of Molly and Tracy showing some of the moves from the pregnancy workouts that are coming out!  Very exciting!

You can also view the clip here!

I do want to buy these in case I ever do get pregnant, but I hope that nobody goes out and gets pregnant JUST so they can do these. :)

I am very excited about this, and since Tracy says in the video even non-pregnant women could do them, perhaps these could be a good beginner workout? We'll see.

Have a great day!!!!!

Why I might consider buying Tracy's trampoline

Hello everyone!!

Before, I had mentioned that I was not thinking about buying Tracy's trampoline.  However, I have changed my mind.

Why?

It actually seems like a good quality piece of equipment for the price.

1. My rebounder costed similar and can only  hold 275 pounds. Hers can hold up to 330.  In the past I haven't been able to find one that holds that much without costing over $200.

2. Tracy's seems like a SAFER choice, it does not fold and the legs are fused onto the frame to allow for better stability.  Mine folds and the legs screw on and off.

3. Tracy's is bigger at 40 inches, mine is 35.

I am going to be placing my rebounder *that I have only used twice or so* on craigslist and use the money from that to help pay for the Tracy one.

The only problem would be storage but I think I can figure out a place for it to go. :)

Are any of you considering getting her rebounder?

Have a great day!

Feeling blah, yet motivated.

Hello everyone!

Sadly I did not get a TAM workout in, my body just wasn't having it and it's not having it today either.

However, I finally got around to doing something I was going to post a while ago.

Printable TAM Meta workout tracker like the one from the box!

https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/Meta%20Calendar%20Original002.pdf?w=e0436f06

Directions:

Trim all the side part off- there is a line on all the pages.

On the 2nd page trim the bottom off as well.

3rd page only trim the sides.

4th page trim the top.

Align all the trimmed edges and tape so that the printing blends in seamlessly, then the top of the calendar part gets taped to the bottom of the measurement page.

Now you have an exact copy of the original calendar!

I also have the one TA has on the site as a replacement but for the first 90 days I like the old one better.  I think the new one is better suited for continuity as it has no "level" labels, just dates and if you did your MS/Cardio, and weight.

https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/tam_calendar.pdf?w=aafa98d7

This one I think I will hole punch a bunch of pages in black and white and put them in a binder when I hit continuity.

Let me know if you have any trouble with these!

Have a great day!!

Eating off the cleanse today

Hello everyone!

Yeah, as the title says, I am eating solid foods today.  Why?  Because I cannot be home today to mix my shakes up.  I will be gone today from 6:40 am to 8:00 pm. Yeah. Long day.

Tonight I am still going to attempt to do Meta.  If I am not too tired and do not get home too late I will do a workout. I have to stop making excuses like that. I am off tomorrow, so if I do end up a little late, I can always sleep in.

I'm pretty busy at work today, so this is a short post. May update this evening!

Exercise?

Hello everyone!

I have completed a week of my cleanse, and I think I am feeling more normal now.  I have to say it's been tough. However, I took my final one week weight... Only lost about 2 pounds. I have to say I am a little disappointed. I was expecting more weight loss but it didn't happen that way.

Also, I decided that I am going to begin exercising again.  Last night I tried to do meta and I was able to do it, I only did 20 reps to get a feel for if I was ready, and I think I am.

One thing that's going to be a challenge- having shakes tomorrow when I have work all day and THEN class in the evening, I will literally not be home ALL DAY. I think instead of shakes I will improvise and eat food instead.

Today I am just having a lazy Sunday, going to pamper myself a little with some skincare treatments.

I hope you had a nice weekend~!

Boing Boing! Tracy Anderson Releases Rebounder Workout!

Hello everyone!

I have just heard that the long-awaited rebounder/mini trampoline DVD is now available at www.tracyandersomethod.com.

There is, however, one thing changing.

The rebounder workout used to be included with Continuity 2.0.  This will no longer be the case.

A message from Tracy to the clients who have already received 2.0 (not me)-

"I wanted to make you aware that because you are such a great devotee, and since you have already purchased Metamorphosis 2.0, you were in an elite group that was the first to receive my trampoline video, which I am releasing to everyone this week. No one else will be receiving the mini trampoline cardio DVD in Metamorphosis 2.0. You were part of a special limited release and it is yours to keep! I want to make sure you don't purchase this DVD as it is released to everyone this week."

I inquired as to what the rest of us will do when we get to 2.0, and I was told that we will still get a cardio DVD, just dancing on the floor and not on the rebounder.

This is actually a good thing for some people (including myself). Here's why.

1. I find bouncing on the rebounder kind of awkward and I have low ceilings in my apartment.  Me on a trampoline would mean my head through the ceiling.

2. Tracy HAS said she does prefer us to dance on the floor anyway for maximum calorie burn. Rebounding is more for beginners and people with problems doing the DC on the floor.

3. It SAVES YOU MONEY AND TIME. Why?  Dancing on the floor,  you have your legs,  you have your shoes already. No need to run around or hunt online and spend time looking for a rebounder, and then pay not only for the rebounder but also for the shipping (which can be high- rebounders are heavy! I have one but because of afforementioned ceiling problem I can't make great use of it.

I think this actually provides more options as I prefer DC on the floor and I am sure I am not alone.  I was actually kind of bummed to see that I would be stuck with a rebounder workout for 2.0 when it was time for me to do so.  Of course, rebounding does have other health benefits too but right now, my main focus is weight loss and burning off my fat suit.

So, in a way this is good for the people who don't like dancing- Now you have a rebounder DVD along with the YouTube Tel Aviv series she did a few years back.

Have a great Thursday, are you going to get the rebounder workout?

Seeing things happening!

Hello everyone!

I'm pretty excited!  I got on the scale today just for kicks and I have already lost 5 pounds since Sunday. I also feel less bloated and feel like I am digesting better.  The cold is almost gone too, just a little headache left.

Lately I am thinking about how I am going to handle myself when I am done with the primary cleanse.  I looked on the Clean Program site and they have a daily shake you can take as many times a day as you like and the price isn't THAT bad considering what it is.

Nourish Daily

This is the Nourish Daily, and it can be taken with a scoop of Move (like the cleanse shakes).  A month's supply of it is 36$

There are many more things for after the cleanse, various probiotics, supplements, and other shakes and they can be found here: After the Cleanse

Before I finish for today, one more thing happened yesterday.  I accidentally ate off of the wrong plate at lunch and ended up eating a couple of bites of bread.  Within 30 minutes, I felt miserable. Sleepy, bloated (still feeling a little bloaty today), and I fell asleep in my chair a few times. Pretty freaky, I think.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

Hello everyone!

I survived another day! I am STILL dealing with cold-like symptoms.

I had my shake for breakfast, a salad with lamb for lunch, and a shake for dinner. However, I ran out of almond milk for my dinner shake, meaning I had to make it with water.

HUGE taste difference!

My blueberry muffin shake became... a blueberry vanilla-ish less satisfying shake.  I really need to get more almond milk. I had no idea how much of a difference it would make without it!

Any of you who have done Clean- how else did you improve the shakes?

Also, any good recipes for Clean approved lunch?

Short post today, but just checking in!

Have a great Tuesday.

Blueberry Muffin Shake??

Hello everyone!

Needless to say, I successfully completed my first day on the Clean shakes.

I am still experiencing my cold-like symptoms/sinus infection (sometimes when I blew my nose it was greenish, sign of infection, but now it's back to clear) and I am feeling a bit more tired.

I do like, however, how these shakes make going potty easier. I used to be the constipation Queen. Not anymore and I feel better as a result.

One thing I really do want to rave about- the taste of the shakes when done right!

I started out with the vanilla powder- halfway through I will be transitioning to chocolate.  I can say that the way I make my shake with vanilla- it feels as if I am drinking a liquefied blueberry muffin.

The vanilla has kind of a cake-battery taste to it and the Move fiber gives it that breadlike quality. Add a cup and a half of water/almond milk and a cup of blueberries and blend. The result is a very thick, yummy shake.

I'm currently going through my second day, so far so good- will post tomorrow about it!

Have a great Monday. :)

First day on the shakes!

Hello everyone!

Today I began my full cleanse.  I started out with a shake for breakfast and a solid meal for lunch.  Here's what I had.

Breakfast:

I decided to try the vanilla flavored Nourish powder first- I thought it was going to taste horrible (Vanilla protein shakes usually do) but I was pleasantly surprised.  I also added one cup of almond milk and 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries (also with the prescribed scoop of Move powder) in the blender and the end result was pretty good- the blueberries made it extra cold which was even better!  I  may try using water at dinner but keeping the blueberries to see if there is a major difference in taste.

Lunch:

I was semi-naughty here, I had 2 bites of pork sausage,  but my main meal was good.  I had 4 ounces of lean lamb marinated in olive oil, lemon, garlic, and basil cooked and put on top of a small amount of gluten free angel hair noodles. Heaven.

Dinner:

Will be another shake.

How am I feeling?  I am feeling alright with the exception that my sinuses and head are still acting up and my neck is aching.  I am starting to wonder if this is an actual cold and not detox. A hot shower and early bed tonight are in the plans.
Also, when you are cleansing, you have to make sure you poop at least once a day.  I have already fulfilled this but there is a chance it could happen again.  The goal is at least once to make sure you are detoxing and getting it out.

Also, the shakes do keep me satisifed in terms of hunger.  Today, hunger was not much of a problem.

Exercise: Nothing yet but I might try to fit in some stretching or something this evening to loosen up.

I hope everyone had a great weekend, I may do a night report tonight or tomorrow morning. Have a good day!

Cleanse starts tomorrow!

Hello everyone!

I got a lot of sleep last night, but when I woke up my nose and sinuses are still acting up.  However, the fatigue and nausea are gone for now.

I begin drinking the Clean shakes and taking the supplements tomorrow.  I hear that  a lot of people blend their shakes with almond/hemp milk and blueberries, so I will go to the store today and get some of each.

Any kind of strenuous exercise is not recommended on the cleanse, so for the rest of the month, I am limiting myself to yoga/walking/stretching.

The reasoning behind this is when you do harder exercise, your body needs to recover.  When it spends energy and time recovering, it is taking away from the detoxing process and may make you feel even worse.

I used to think that detoxing was supposed to feel good, but I have learned that it's not always the case.

I will keep you guys updated on how I feel day by day so if you decide to try it, you know what to expect.

Have a wonderful Saturday!!!

Detox symptoms...

Hello everyone!

Today is going to be a short post, you'll see why when you read on.

I have pretty much successfully completed 5 days so far of the elimination diet.

I can start to feel the detox symptoms- diarrhea, very tired, headaches, and even  my nose is running now along with the acne I posted about earlier.

On the cleanse, they prefer you do NOT take any OTC medications.  If you feel like crap (like me) sleep!

So, I am going to go take a shower, and take a nap and hope for the best.

Have a good night and I hope I feel better in the morning.

Day 3 Elimination

Hello everyone.

The first couple of days of this diet went alright.  The third, however, is when it started feeling different.

I am fine not being "allowed" to eat certain foods. The difficult part is the fatigue.

It started slightly when I was on my way walking to school, but thought nothing of it.  A few minutes after class started, I felt a huge wave of fatigue. I could barely stay awake the rest of the class, even after drinking water.

Also, feeling like this while doing this program is actually normal and to be expected. It's a sign that your body is detoxing.

Later that night, I went to the grocery store and went to the meat counter as I hadn't had meat since starting.  I saw that they had locally raised, grass fed lamb stew meat, so I bought a pound and divided it up into 4 ounce servings for salads and meals.

I did not do any TA on the 3rd day, I was simply too exhausted.

I can't wait to start taking the supplements and shakes, hopefully I will feel better doing so.

Have a great day!

Day 2 Elimination recap!

Hello everyone!

I finished 2 days of the Elimination diet and I do think it's getting easier.   I am finding myself starting to crave less junk. I am still fighting temptations but I am fighting through.

Yesterday I again had the same foods that I had yesterday-

Breakfast: Tracy Anderson Chocolate Shake

Lunch: Gluten free pasta with garlic and olive oil

Snack: a handful of walnuts

Dinner- Skipped again, not hungry.

I also got some exercise- 45 minutes of walking and I did my first Tracy workout- Meta level 1 day 1 20 reps a leg.

One thing different- I was REALLY exhausted after all that.  I didn't get to do my dance cardio  because I passed out at 9 pm. I felt better during the day but at night I crashed hard, sleeping until 6:30 this morning.

I also (out of curiosity) weighed myself and I saw I had lost 3.3 pounds since starting.  I'm not going to keep my hopes up unless the weight loss continues, as in if I weigh in next week, I want to see a change.

I also have been learning to love lemon infused water.  Slice up a lemon, drop in a few slices into a bottle of water and you're good to go.  Also I heard it's very detoxifying.

Day 1 precleanse recap

Hello everyone!

I have successfully completed my first day of my elimination diet.  Here's how the rest of the day went.

1. I ended up not having dinner at all. Why? My appetite was non existent at night.  I remember this happened also when I went gluten free before.   I would have breakfast and lunch but no dinner most of the time.

2. I didn't feel that physically bad in the end. A little sleepy but nothing too bad.

3. I did go to bed early, which is a new thing for me.

4. I didn't feel like I was hit by a train when I woke up this morning. I slept in a little late but felt alright when I woke up, as opposed to my normal total lack of energy.

5. My knees started to hurt a little bit less already.

6. (TMI alert!) I am having bowel movements much more regularly as opposed to my usual constipation/diarrhea circus.

This is just after day 1. I also feel lighter but I do not want to weigh myself until next week. I like surprises.

Ok, off to work I go and here goes day 2!

Have a great day everyone!

Precleanse Day 1

Hello everyone!

Quickie post today!

So far I have eaten/or prepared 2 meals today.

Breakfast:

Tracy Anderson shake mixed with almond milk. Very filling!

Lunch (haven't eaten yet)

Gluten free Rice/Flax pasta with olive oil and garlic, with some black beans on the side.

Dinner:

TBA but will probably be a salad of some kind and the rest of the black beans.

To drink today: Water with lemon slices in it. While most citrus is not allowed on the cleanse, they do allow lemons and limes.

I have to go to work soon (30 minute walk there and back) and I might play some Dance Central and do Meta when I come home.

Have a great day!!!

Tofu burgers!

 Hello everyone!

Here are the yummy tofu burgers I made. Sounds gross to some people but the end result is actually quite good!

The packet of seasoning/bread crumbs/yumminess

Mashed up firm tofu with the seasoning in it

Patties ready to cook!

Cookin~

Finished!  They have a delicate oniony taste. They're good with ketchup and mustard too~

Very easy to make- took about 10 minutes total to make it all.

Last day before precleansing

Hello everyone!

Today is the last day I get to enjoy "forbidden" foods for the rest of the month.  Tomorrow I start the pre-cleanse elimination diet, so I had/will have a couple last-day treats.

Treat #1

Greek yogurt!  Dairy is not allowed on the cleanse, so I had for breakfast a cup of Fage 0% fat greek yogurt with some honey mixed in.  I usually don't like honey, but with Greek yogurt, it's divine!

Treat #2

Hot dogs!  I had a hot dog for lunch (processed meats and beef are not allowed but bison/buffalo are), I will miss them but I think my health is worth it.

Treat #3

Tofu burgers!  Remember the post I made about getting the tofu burger mix?  I will be having that for dinner.  Soy (other than tamari soy sauce/nama shoyu/ miso) is not allowed on the cleanse.  I hate to leave my soon to expire tofu in the fridge all month and I have been meaning to make these anyway.

So, the next week I will be eating three meals a day before cleansing with shakes.  I just so happened to look at my Tracy shake mix and to my surprise, those do not have any "bad" ingredients that would cause me to go off the cleanse.  So, breakfast this next week will likely be a shake, as I do not always have the time in the morning to make quinoa porridge.  My think thin bars, however, are a no-no because they have both soy and peanuts, major things you cannot have.

Another allowed food- Glass Noodles- I want to try my hand at making a Korean dish called Japchae- stir fried noodles with vegetables.

The noodles are made of sweet potato starch and are gluten free. :) I will let you know how mine turn out.

Hope you had a great weekend!
