New day!

Hello everyone!

In case anyone didn't know, Tracy finally had her baby yesterday!  A little 5 pound 10 ounce girl named Penelope. Congrats to Tracy and her family!

I am still pretty tired and sore from Monday. However, I am going to give my boot camp workout a go, and make some of the ratatouille from the book recipes.  I remember making it before and having been very tasty and good.

Those of you who have done the book workouts or made the recipes- What is your favorite recipe from Tracy?

Change is still rough.

Hello everyone!

I am not sure if I mentioned it but I am trying to cut down my Diet Coke drinking as well as going grain free (and hopefully one day dairy free) and while the taste bud part of me isn't minding too much, the part of me that likes caffeine doesn't.

I have had a terrible headache all over the left side of my head as I write this. Ugh.

I'm still going to get some walking done (I have class today and apparently a lot of homework coming up and that's how I get there) and I took some ibuprofen to hope and pray that this headache calms down.

I am going back to Abcentric on Monday and I think I might have a buddy this time around starting the same as me, but not sure. I'm very excited about it!

So far my diet has been good too- Hard boiled eggs for breakfast and some beef vegetable soup for lunch. Dinner will be some steak and veggies.

Lastly, back to the subject of food-withdrawal headaches- do you get them? What did you do?

Alright that's it for now, have a great day!

Today makes 5!

Hello everyone!

So I finished my 4th day yesterday and I made another change- for kicks, I did Meta DC on the floor.  I think I will keep doing it because I feel like I got much more of a workout- more sweat for sure.  I think I will tack on the rebounder at the end and keep working at the endurance until I hit 30 minutes and eventually do 30 dancing and 30 jumping, then eventually, one day, be able to dance full octane for a whole hour.

I did weigh myself again today, no change from yesterday BUT I do feel like my stomach is more sucked in, I see dents in my thighs and arms, and some changes in my lower legs as well. Very exciting!!!!

I actually look forward to tonight's workout except for the fact that I have to do it in the evening (I had work today). I really prefer daytime workouts but the important part is that I get it in.

Have a great Friday!!!!

Eating off the cleanse today

Hello everyone!

Yeah, as the title says, I am eating solid foods today.  Why?  Because I cannot be home today to mix my shakes up.  I will be gone today from 6:40 am to 8:00 pm. Yeah. Long day.

Tonight I am still going to attempt to do Meta.  If I am not too tired and do not get home too late I will do a workout. I have to stop making excuses like that. I am off tomorrow, so if I do end up a little late, I can always sleep in.

I'm pretty busy at work today, so this is a short post. May update this evening!

Day 2 Elimination recap!

Hello everyone!

I finished 2 days of the Elimination diet and I do think it's getting easier.   I am finding myself starting to crave less junk. I am still fighting temptations but I am fighting through.

Yesterday I again had the same foods that I had yesterday-

Breakfast: Tracy Anderson Chocolate Shake

Lunch: Gluten free pasta with garlic and olive oil

Snack: a handful of walnuts

Dinner- Skipped again, not hungry.

I also got some exercise- 45 minutes of walking and I did my first Tracy workout- Meta level 1 day 1 20 reps a leg.

One thing different- I was REALLY exhausted after all that.  I didn't get to do my dance cardio  because I passed out at 9 pm. I felt better during the day but at night I crashed hard, sleeping until 6:30 this morning.

I also (out of curiosity) weighed myself and I saw I had lost 3.3 pounds since starting.  I'm not going to keep my hopes up unless the weight loss continues, as in if I weigh in next week, I want to see a change.

I also have been learning to love lemon infused water.  Slice up a lemon, drop in a few slices into a bottle of water and you're good to go.  Also I heard it's very detoxifying.

Day 1 precleanse recap

Hello everyone!

I have successfully completed my first day of my elimination diet.  Here's how the rest of the day went.

1. I ended up not having dinner at all. Why? My appetite was non existent at night.  I remember this happened also when I went gluten free before.   I would have breakfast and lunch but no dinner most of the time.

2. I didn't feel that physically bad in the end. A little sleepy but nothing too bad.

3. I did go to bed early, which is a new thing for me.

4. I didn't feel like I was hit by a train when I woke up this morning. I slept in a little late but felt alright when I woke up, as opposed to my normal total lack of energy.

5. My knees started to hurt a little bit less already.

6. (TMI alert!) I am having bowel movements much more regularly as opposed to my usual constipation/diarrhea circus.

This is just after day 1. I also feel lighter but I do not want to weigh myself until next week. I like surprises.

Ok, off to work I go and here goes day 2!

Have a great day everyone!

Last day before precleansing

Hello everyone!

Today is the last day I get to enjoy "forbidden" foods for the rest of the month.  Tomorrow I start the pre-cleanse elimination diet, so I had/will have a couple last-day treats.

Treat #1

Greek yogurt!  Dairy is not allowed on the cleanse, so I had for breakfast a cup of Fage 0% fat greek yogurt with some honey mixed in.  I usually don't like honey, but with Greek yogurt, it's divine!

Treat #2

Hot dogs!  I had a hot dog for lunch (processed meats and beef are not allowed but bison/buffalo are), I will miss them but I think my health is worth it.

Treat #3

Tofu burgers!  Remember the post I made about getting the tofu burger mix?  I will be having that for dinner.  Soy (other than tamari soy sauce/nama shoyu/ miso) is not allowed on the cleanse.  I hate to leave my soon to expire tofu in the fridge all month and I have been meaning to make these anyway.

So, the next week I will be eating three meals a day before cleansing with shakes.  I just so happened to look at my Tracy shake mix and to my surprise, those do not have any "bad" ingredients that would cause me to go off the cleanse.  So, breakfast this next week will likely be a shake, as I do not always have the time in the morning to make quinoa porridge.  My think thin bars, however, are a no-no because they have both soy and peanuts, major things you cannot have.

Another allowed food- Glass Noodles- I want to try my hand at making a Korean dish called Japchae- stir fried noodles with vegetables.

The noodles are made of sweet potato starch and are gluten free. :) I will let you know how mine turn out.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Hello Everyone!

I have been giving things some thought, and it occurred to me that I should re-word what I am calling my diet.  What I am doing is technically NOT true paleo because I am not eating grass fed/organic food. I also am willing to eat potatoes, carrots, and sweet potatoes (often argued as NOT paleo since it is a starch). So, I think the more appropriate way to call my new eating habits would be more along the lines of- "Grain free, Gluten Free, Clean Eating".  So if a food meets those criteria, I am willing to eat it.  Also, unlike Paleo, I am going to be watching my calories because too much of anything will still fatten you up.  I am avoiding dairy (Unless it's a small amount in coffee or something) not because I fear dairy but because I am lactose intolerant.

I also am not going out of my way to find grass fed/organic meat solely because I do not live anywhere near a place that sells it and when I have seen it, it's pretty damn expensive ($9.99 a pound for ground beef!) and I'm a broke college student.  I have seen natural "no hormones/no antibiotics" beef but the fat ratio was a bit high for me- 85% lean and I prefer at least 90% lean if I am going to pay a premium.

Sure, this isn't the 100% best way to eat, but it is a long way from how I have been eating.  I will be also going grocery shopping every 3 days.  I will also be taking some recipes from Tracy's book because there were some on the vegetarian plan that were actually pretty delicious.

I will be going over what foods I will be eating and post them here. I won't be able to get to the store until Thursday anyway.

Have a great day everyone!

No More F****ing Around.

Hello everyone!

I have really decided to make some changes to my life. Before, I had my mind in the right place, the right intentions but I just didn't have the push to do it. I have been feeling sluggish and tired all the time (again) and I am very certain that my diet is primarily to blame.

FIRST off- I want to just stop fucking around with weight watchers and "diets" and go paleo again.  More later in the post.

SECOND- My goal is to get movement in every day. It doesn't have to be TA, it can be so simple as walking to and from school. No more elevators, escalators, etc unless there is no other way up or down.

THIRD- My skin is in APPALLING shape. I have hordes of under-the-skin acne all over my face and BLACKHEADS.  Anyone who knows me in person knows that I had wonderful skin my whole life... and now this.  I have been super lazy in doing my skincare these days, and I strongly believe diet is a big player here too.

FOURTH- I MUST start moisturizing daily. As in my body.  I have been also super lazy here and all I get is I end up suffering by clawing myself raw every  night.  It's not eczema right now, but I am ashier than a dirty chimney.  Flakes everywhere. Sick, right?

FIFTH- Taking a Multivitamin will probably do nothing for me but help. I want to start taking them daily. I have one with extra biotin in it, which is good for skin, hair, and nails, all of which need work.

So, these things really need to change. A talk with a friend of mine yesterday really made me realize I need to shape it up. She is also trying to do the same.

So every day, my goal is to make all of these things habit and not a chore.

Now, I want to start paleo tomorrow, but I cannot get to the grocery store until March 1 after I get paid.  Determined, I went foraging in my kitchen and found the following:

6 eggs
6 pounds of fresh sweet potatoes
1/2 bag of frozen organic broccoli
2-3 bags of frozen organic spinach
3 lb bag of raw walnuts
3 big cans of canned chicken breast
A plethora of various teas (green, black, lipton, cookie-flavored, strawberry, etc)
A bag of oranges
1 snack cup of organic applesauce

So, I will be trying to make this paleo-friendly food last until I can shop. Waste not, want not.

Looking to get a good kick start this weekend- how about you?

Email from Tracy 12/15/2011

Hello everyone-

Getting allergy tested ended up being a really draining experince (I had 4 big vials of blood taken too) so I will start my boot camp tomorrow or Saturday.

I did get this email from Tracy though. (you probably did too)

WELLNESS SHAKES TO HELP YOU STAY FIT!
It is with great excitement that after many years of research, testing and developing meal replacements, I have finally succeeded with my Perfect Performance Wellness Formula. This shake is the ideal meal replacement and perfect addition to your daily workout. It takes less than 30 seconds to whip up, which is essential for all of us with busy holiday schedules!
It's easy to gain weight and lose some of your results during the holidays. With all of the hustle and bustle of the season, the last thing you're thinking about is making a nutritious meal for yourself. As women, we are natural caretakers and nurturers, and we often think of ourselves last. This often leaves us feeling depleted, which can negatively affect our health and self-esteem.
It has always been my mission to provide you with the tools and the truth, so that you can feel your best. With so many visions of beauty constantly thrown at us from every direction, you may find yourself wishing that those "quick fix" claims really worked. But for 13 years my career has been dedicated to supporting you and helping you become your healthiest self. With Metamorphosis, you have already found that there are no shortcuts to the perfect body. Just like with your workouts, you need to devote time each day to eating well.
However, I want you to understand that this is not your run-of-the-mill protein and weight-loss shake. I would never put my name on anything that failed to hold integrity of ingredients, or was unable to support your lifestyle while doing Metamorphosis. Most (and when I say "most", I mean 90%) of the weight-loss shakes on the market today do nothing for your overall health. Many are like cardboard houses with curb appeal. They have flashy labels and claims, but are loaded with all of the wrong ingredients. Some of these protein blends are not only weak, but if taken consistently they can actually cause weight gain!
SOME OF THE COMMON GIMMICKS THAT OTHER SHAKE COMPANIES USE:
  • Partially hydrogenated oil: to create a smooth texture
  • Non-fat milk powder: to keep the cost down
  • Corn syrup solids and lots of sugars: sweet taste, but harmful to your health
  • Low quality whey protein/domestic whey: can contain hormones, toxins and antibiotics
  • Probiotics: often listed as added benefit, without clinically validated strains
  • Artificial flavoring
  • Fructose as a main ingredient
Drinking shakes that contain these common gimmicks, and expecting to improve upon your health, is like planting dead seeds and expecting a lush, healthy garden to grow. It's just not possible to obtain or sustain great results with these products. And if you've tried other shakes out there and not seen results, I'm sure you can relate.
BELOW ARE SOME IMPORTANT DIFFERENCES FOUND IN MY WELLNESS FORMULA SHAKE:
  • Fully discloses the amino acid profile, which makes up the complete protein formula
  • Includes all 8 essential aminos, and all branch chain aminos, which are necessary building blocks for developing muscle tone
  • Fructose and dairy-free, which helps to optimize your immune function
  • Provides highly-concentrated, pure immunoglobulins, a protein that helps fight bacteria and viruses
  • Provides intestinal support
  • Supports a natural response to inflammation
  • Supports healthy lipid levels
  • Supports lean muscle mass retention
I feel very fortunate to finally be able to offer my shakes as a solution for all of you, and I would like to outline my recommendation for implementing them into your daily eating plan. I recommend that you have only one shake per day as a meal replacement, whether you want to lose or maintain your current weight. I personally love my shake for breakfast, about 30 minutes before I workout. If you are on the Metamorphosis nutrition plan, the shake can act as a substitute for your Think Thin bar. Or, if you have weight and toxins to lose, then you can use the shake in combination with two very healthy meals each day to shed the excess baggage. I like to pour 2 glasses of ice water, put one scoop in each glass, and drink them both for added hydration. Some of my friends prefer to add 2 scoops of powder to their iced coffee each day. There are additional recipes on my website as well, and I would love for you to email me any recipes and suggestions you may have.

My day always starts with a shake, and from that I get a good 4 hours of clean energy without feeling deprived or hungry. I can honestly say that this shake, combined with Metamorphosis, is the total transformation package!
Please don't be turned away from this amazing opportunity by the price. It actually breaks down to $4.20/meal, which can easily be compared to a calorie-loaded drink at many chain coffee shops.
You know that you can't lose weight without exercise, but remember that proper nutrition is essential to not only lose weight, but lose the right kind of weight. Skinny fat is just as disappointing as fat, and I want you to be your most beautiful, proportioned, and healthy self.
Order your shake today!

Looks like a lot of people AREN'T ordering. Well it IS expensive, maybe they could lower the price a bit and more people would order. (I would)  But, as I said before if you have the money, give it a try for even 2 weeks. It did good things for me (kept me full til lunch time and I felt energetic on it as well as eating paleo) and who knows?  I only quit because of the price.

I still have a 2 week supply left that I am going to get back on when I start my program. It's gluten and dairy free so I should be ok. :)

Have a great day!

Still sick but I have another article!

Hello everyone!

No workout to really speak of this time.  I am very sick, both my nose and lungs are filled with snot and I generally feel like crap.

Remember before how I talked about giving up wheat, and mentioned the book "Wheat Belly"?  I came across an article with an interview with the author.  It is a concise version of why we shouldn't be eating wheat.

This past week I haven't been very good about dieting either, but I did buy some foods for when I get better- I picked up some organic grass fed ground beef, some organic salad, some eggs, balsamic vinegar, and some blackberries. I hope the salad doesn't go bad before I get better.  However my weight hasn't changed much. I did gain a little back but not all of it.

I want to get back into the book workouts and eat this way again. I felt so much better being grain and starch free. Now I feel like shit in other ways all over again. Gotta get back on the horse, as they say.

I might go to the doctor tomorrow and get looked at for this cold and my ankle while I am at it. That's still hurting from time to time too.  Hope you guys are doing well- also I am DONE with school for this semester after Tuesday. I might wait to work out til then. Not sure.

Abcentric Day 14

Hello everyone!

I completed 2 whole weeks of Metamorphosis and dieting!!!! Being the two week anniversary, I would like to take some time and reflect on it.

Things I am proud of from these past two weeks:

1. Keeping to my diet pretty well- avoiding those grains (except last night but we'll get to that).
2. Doing SOME form of movement EVERY DAY.
3. A HUGE weight loss
4. Starting to jump around during cardio instead of just step touching the whole thing.
Things I wish I could have done better:

1. More consistency with cardio. There were a few days when I DIDN'T do cardio at all *like this past weekend*.  I really need to do it every time I work out. There's really no excuse for it. My legs aren't broken.
2. Push myself a LITTLE more with the muscular structure work. If I really wanted to and if I took the time, I CAN do 40 reps per leg. Sure, it would involve a couple of sit breaks between sets of 10-20 but I technically CAN do it.

I am starting to get to thinking about stepping up my game with the cardio but I know in my gut, it's too soon, I cannot jump a whole 30 minutes yet and here my brain is like MOVING FORWARD.  When I am strong enough to jump through the whole 30 minutes I want to start giving her other Cardio DVDs a try. The ones that involve learning combinations. Those are actually harder in the sense that you move your legs in even MORE ways than before.

Ok let's talk about yesterday.

I kept my Leg reps at 25 again, which burned but something in my head was thinking I should REALLY try to go for 40.  So for day 15 I think I shall.  NO CARDIO AGAIN. I don't know what came over me this weekend but it needs to be nipped in the bud NOW.

As for diet...  Well, last night I had wheat. I had a cheeseburger WITH the bun and something called cheese curds (which are like fried mozzarella sticks except these are smaller pieces of cheddar) which are, of course, BREADED.  When I got home, I felt like I got shot in the ass with a HUGE tranquilizer dart. Not doing THAT again for a LONG time. Feeling like that, honestly, SUCKED. And now I sit here blogging and also a bit bloated (as if PMS bloat wasn't enough, the wheat just added insult to injury).  Today I am cooling it on the starch again, drinking lots of water and plan on sweating it out in a major way tonight.

I hope you guys have a great Monday- get that workout in!

Abcentric Metamorphosis Day 8

Hello everyone!

Well first a quick post about my workout last night.  I wasn't feeling too well, like I was starting to come down with a cold or something (which I woke up with). All I was able to get through was my MS- 30 reps per leg but it was a HUGE struggle.
Next, I want to update you guys on my 1 week weight results-

On 11/14, I weighed 284.4 pounds, on 11/21 I weighed 268 pounds. That's 16.4 pound weight loss. Yes, you read that right.  And my scale is not tricking me.  I went to the doctor also for something else and they weighed me and it was the same loss AND my blood pressure went down from 138/89 to 120/81. I was shocked that even that little bit made a big difference in blood pressure.

I think that weight loss has a lot to do with 2 things- how I am eating and the fact that I do SOME form of workouts every day.

My diet has changed a lot.  I recently read a book called "Wheat Belly" by William Davis.  In short, the book explains that modern wheat is NOT good for you at all. It is not the same wheat as it was even less than a century ago.  Modern wheat seems to be responsible for a LOT of health problems, especially obesity and the problem is that wheat is in SO MUCH food these days.  It goes into more horrifying detail about all the health problems and stuff but it was enough to make me give up wheat and grains most of the time for good measure.

Check the book out on Amazon here.

I feel physically a lot better eating like this too. And it's not quite as hard as it sounds. Yes it can be challenging, but it IS doable.

Have a great day guys!

Hipcentric Day 1 and 2

Hello everyone!

I'm a little late in posting but so far I have completed hipcentric days 1 and 2 out of 90.  I also did something different on day 2.

Day 1 I did my 30 minutes of cardio, and level 1 MS, with 20 reps a leg. Nothing special.

Day 2- I did my MS with 25 reps a leg (increasing by 5 a day until I hit 40 and can stick with it) no cardio because it was REALLY late at night, and I did  my special new thing-

Some of you  may be familiar with the fact that continuity has bonus arms, which is like unweighted arms with 1 pound wrist weights involved.  The light bulb went off in my head that I know of another arm section- The TA Connect/Malawi Arms webisode.

She starts out unweighted then adds in the 3 lb weights. I didn't do this. Instead, I put on my 1 pound wrist weights and went through all the motions following Tracy (she doesn't use the 3 lb weights at all, her trainers do) and boy did that hurt. In a good way! I worked up a good sweat doing that  before starting my Meta MS.  I think I am going to keep it up this way, my arms can always use the extra help.

Have a great day!!

Updates Galore!

Hello everyone!

I have some updates for you!

Over the next week or so, the blog might start looking different. I am playing around with different designs and such to make it a little prettier around here. I think the old way is boring, needs a change, don't you think?  There may be times when the site is down, or looks crazy. No worries- it's being worked on!  I might also delete some old posts, they're cluttery to me.

If you have not read my last post, I will be starting Hipcentric as of tomorrow.  Tracy and her team have an email set up specifically to help figure out your body type and what kind of workout/diet to do for best results for you personally.  The long story short- Yes, I am Abcentric like I thought, however she wants me to do Hipcentric for 90 days and then do Abcentric Meta.  This is because my abs are too weak to do the Abcentric stuff without higher risk of injury.

As for diet- I am quite relieved in that I do not have to follow the plan that came with meta.  They told me specifically to just watch my eating for 90 days.  I was told to drink the shake in the morning and have a healthy meal for lunch and dinner. Easy! I would like to make those two meals mostly low carb, gluten/wheat-free and even more ideally, vegan. However, some meat here and there won't kill me.  It's mostly wheat and starch I really want to avoid- ESPECIALLY wheat.  Wheat these days is nothing like wheat was 100 years ago.

I did order the shake for a month's supply just to try and taste it, see how I feel, etc. Yes, it does have some evaporated cane juice in it- but that is a FAR cry from the nutritional hell I normally drink- diet coke, coffee with all kinds of stuff in it, things of that nature.  I do like how Tracy's shake is vegan and gluten free. Big plus. As I said before, I will try it for a couple weeks and review it.  If I like it, and see results, etc, then I will keep on the shake and eating plan until I drop more weight.

I have also again been a very bad, bad, naughty girl and missed a few workouts and ate horribly.  I don't know what I was thinking and there's really no excuse for it. I am hitting the mat again tomorrow, fresh and new.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Starting over but NOT for the reason you might think!

Hello everyone!

I am very excited about this post.  As you can see, I am starting Meta over- but NOT because I slipped up, "failed" or anything like that.  I actually got a personalized prescription from the boss lady herself!

How did this happen? How can you get one too?

A couple of weeks ago, Tracy posted on the Metamorphosis community page the following:

"Hello community!! First of all I want to thank all of you for the amazing letters of support for my pregnancy! Wow! What amazing women we have here. I am so excited and will be filming pregnancy videos as well as spending most of my time on further research and development for all of you. I have such an amazing staff that I work very closely with everyday. Maria Kelling and Stacey McDermott who you all have probably seen on qvc with me are my right hand girls. They have been at the top working beside me where no one else has been for many years now. You will get to see more of them in continuity! Which will be very exciting. I have filmed the first year and the first 90 days of the second year already. I have created the entire second year as well and its going to be great to have Maria and Stacey execute it because we are going to be able to not have as many edits as the first few continuities had. Continuity is SO important to your transformation and results. I can’t stress it enough. It creates miracles! I loved my time on the community so much I am now making more time for it. No one can answer your questions about what centric you are except for me and my prescription team. So we have created an email centric@tracyandersonmethod.com so that you can email us your photos and we will tell you if you are on the right program or when you might need to switch during continuity. The prescription process is key to your results and takes years to understand. You are how you move and designing bodies isn’t easy so please reach out to us. We are here for you and we are so proud of you! We have such an exciting and empowering journey laid out for you! Love, Tracy"

So, out of curiosity, I took down that centric email and shot over an email with some front and side view pictures.

It took about a week, but I got a reply!

"Hi Roxanne,

Thank you so much for your photos!  Tracy said you are abcentric (you are right!), however, you are too weak in the abs to start abcentric, so go to Hipcentric for 3 months and then start Abcentric Level 1.  She also wants you to do our wellness shake (found on our website) and watch your food for those 3 months, while on Hipcentric.

Shake in the AM and continue with what you would eat for lunch, dinner, etc.  If you would like some advice on this, feel free to email me!

You're doing an amazing job!!  Please let me know if you have any questions and keep us posted!"

Well well. Turns out I was correct about being abcentric! The shocking thing is that she wants me to do Hip first (which I am borrowing from a friend).  I can actually see how that could work.
1. Because it's weakness, Hip and Omni are identical on all the odd numbered levels. So in a way she is strengthening up my WHOLE body on those odd levels.  I also have little saddlebags on my hips, so the Hipcentric unique levels (the even numbers) can work on those.  I actually have very tight, weak hips. I LOATHE lifting my legs to the side.

2. Probably because my abs aren't fully awake yet at all, she doesn't want me to injure myself by rushing in too quickly.

Yes, she is telling me to use her shake. (I hear a lot of people say how she's always trying to push it on people) However, from what I have seen she has not been telling that to EVERYONE.   Also she only wants me on the shake for 3 months, and for breakfast with 2 solid meals for lunch and dinner.  No mention of purees, or any of that insanity.  This saves me a whole lot of time in the kitchen!  She also says feel free to ask any questions- I will be holding her up to that.

I have already asked if by Ab level 1 she means Meta or Continuity (I am pretty sure she means Meta, waiting for response), and also advice on what kinds of foods would make a good lunch and dinner.  A shake for breakfast and solids for lunch and dinner seems pretty reasonable actually.  I don't really have huge hunger in the mornings anyway.  I will also be sending them MORE pictures after I have done Hip and Ab Metas to see where to go from there. I pray she says to go with Ab continuity. I will be putting my second round of ab continuity on hold until I get close to that point. No sense in paying for more things I won't use.

I will be trying the shake for at least one month, to see how it tastes, how I feel, etc and I will be writing a review on it.   It probably won't be right away after I receive it, but after I've used it for at least two weeks.

I will still be working out while waiting for the shakes to arrive (I haven't ordered yet) but I will not be doing meta. Instead I will be flirting with Mat, learning some choreographed cardio, Webisodes, etc. just to keep me active while I wait.

If you haven't bought any Metamorphosis stuff yet, send your pics to the email before you do! It's worth the wait!

Have a wonderful day!

Old Habits Die Hard

Hello everyone!

My post yesterday was about how good it feels to not count calories and what not. However, that is only HALF the battle.

I am still fighting the other half. What is that, you may ask?

Cravings. Temptation. BOREDOM EATING. Call it what you want, in a nutshell eating foods that are no good for me out of sheer "pleasure".

All day today, yesterday, Hell, since I started changing my eating habits, I have been thinking about eating one thing in particular- Curly Fries. Seasoned, delicious, cute curly fries.

"But you feel so good eating healthy! Why would you want to even IMAGINE eating trash like that?" you may be asking.

Well, changing your lifestyle is not an easy thing. After having been eating lots of junk food, fast food, food eaten solely for the reason that it tastes good, eaten solely out of boredom, out of "stress", taking that away is sort of giving me a mental shock. A lot of people self-medicate with food too. I did. I went through a lot of hard times in my life, and when I was at my lowest point, I thought at least FOOD would make me feel better. And it did. Until I started gaining weight, feeling sick/tired.  When my hard times were behind me, that nasty habit still stuck.  Sure, those events that passed had passed, but now I have a very LOW level of self esteem.  I wasn't big my whole life. At one point I was actually pretty slender.

I am not obsessing over calories. Nope. I'm obsessing (and trying not to) over eating something delightfully fried and tasty with no regard to how it will (not) fuel my body.  I relate it to other kinds of addicts when they go cold turkey. They go through withdrawls. Mental, physical, both, depends on what they are kicking.  Despite wanting to break free from the desire, it's hard work.

In my case, it is actually BOTH. However, the withdrawls symptoms in this case are not always BAD.

Mental- the withdrawls from the bad food are sucking. It's somewhat consuming my thoughts. ESPECIALLY since I am at school for most of my weekdays, surrounded by people constantly eating the crap and bored out of my mind. And I smell it. And wish for it. And at the same time I feel fucking horrible about it, like I am some kind of animal with no control over its appetite. It sucks. I know it will pass, but right now, it's SUCKING. Nobody said this was easy.  Idle hands are the fast food industry's playground.

Physical- Here's the not so bad withdrawls- (WARNING- TMI ALERT!) A less bloated belly. The ability to go to the bathroom (poop not pee) 2-3 times a day and not having horrible Irritable Bowel symptoms or not being able to go at all for days.  More energy in the morning. WEIGHT LOSS.

I know this will be a struggle for a while. These habits just don't disappear overnight like a bad one night stand. If anyone tells you "Oh after ONE DAY I never want that food again! EVER!!!" they are either a dirty liar, not human, or had some kind of HORRIBLY disgusting, traumatic experience with said food.

I appreciate all of your support, and I offer mine as well. Have a wonderful day and be good to yourself.

Day 1 ART Method

Hello everyone!

As of now, Terri does not have me on an exercise prescription, right now we are working on my eating/drinking habits.  I was given a set of guidelines (that I promised not to share in detail, sorry guys!) but I CAN list what I have been eating today.

Breakfast:

2 eggs cooked in olive oil spray (no fake stuff- I make sure it says 100% olive oil)
2 small Gala apples

Lunch:

2 slices of roast beef on potato bread (2 slices) topped with-
- Lettuce
- Pepperoncini (hot peppers)
- Green pepper slices
- Red onion slices
- White onion slices
- Mustard

Dinner:

2 Boca Burgers (original Vegan)
A large handful of mini sweet bell peppers

To drink:

2 liters of water
1 16 ounce cup of coffee with 2 fat free half/halfs. NO Sweetener (Yuck but I think I will get used to it)

I really hope day 2's eating will be as good as today's. I hope you all have a great evening!
