Why I might consider buying Tracy's trampoline

Hello everyone!!

Before, I had mentioned that I was not thinking about buying Tracy's trampoline.  However, I have changed my mind.

Why?

It actually seems like a good quality piece of equipment for the price.

1. My rebounder costed similar and can only  hold 275 pounds. Hers can hold up to 330.  In the past I haven't been able to find one that holds that much without costing over $200.

2. Tracy's seems like a SAFER choice, it does not fold and the legs are fused onto the frame to allow for better stability.  Mine folds and the legs screw on and off.

3. Tracy's is bigger at 40 inches, mine is 35.

I am going to be placing my rebounder *that I have only used twice or so* on craigslist and use the money from that to help pay for the Tracy one.

The only problem would be storage but I think I can figure out a place for it to go. :)

Are any of you considering getting her rebounder?

Have a great day!

Boing Boing! Tracy Anderson Releases Rebounder Workout!

Hello everyone!

I have just heard that the long-awaited rebounder/mini trampoline DVD is now available at www.tracyandersomethod.com.

There is, however, one thing changing.

The rebounder workout used to be included with Continuity 2.0.  This will no longer be the case.

A message from Tracy to the clients who have already received 2.0 (not me)-

"I wanted to make you aware that because you are such a great devotee, and since you have already purchased Metamorphosis 2.0, you were in an elite group that was the first to receive my trampoline video, which I am releasing to everyone this week. No one else will be receiving the mini trampoline cardio DVD in Metamorphosis 2.0. You were part of a special limited release and it is yours to keep! I want to make sure you don't purchase this DVD as it is released to everyone this week."

I inquired as to what the rest of us will do when we get to 2.0, and I was told that we will still get a cardio DVD, just dancing on the floor and not on the rebounder.

This is actually a good thing for some people (including myself). Here's why.

1. I find bouncing on the rebounder kind of awkward and I have low ceilings in my apartment.  Me on a trampoline would mean my head through the ceiling.

2. Tracy HAS said she does prefer us to dance on the floor anyway for maximum calorie burn. Rebounding is more for beginners and people with problems doing the DC on the floor.

3. It SAVES YOU MONEY AND TIME. Why?  Dancing on the floor,  you have your legs,  you have your shoes already. No need to run around or hunt online and spend time looking for a rebounder, and then pay not only for the rebounder but also for the shipping (which can be high- rebounders are heavy! I have one but because of afforementioned ceiling problem I can't make great use of it.

I think this actually provides more options as I prefer DC on the floor and I am sure I am not alone.  I was actually kind of bummed to see that I would be stuck with a rebounder workout for 2.0 when it was time for me to do so.  Of course, rebounding does have other health benefits too but right now, my main focus is weight loss and burning off my fat suit.

So, in a way this is good for the people who don't like dancing- Now you have a rebounder DVD along with the YouTube Tel Aviv series she did a few years back.

Have a great Thursday, are you going to get the rebounder workout?

Ankle update and a huge item on my wish list

Hello everyone!

I haven't been working out like I'd have liked, a lot is going on in my personal life, really stressed and time crunched. (Raising a puppy is a big one on this list!)

My ankle is also on the mend- I can walk and stuff on it without pain, the pain mostly comes with rainy weather.

Lately I have been looking into rebounder workouts again. Like this:

I do have a rebounder but as I discovered earlier this year when I tried to use it, it's sort of loud and squeaky and I am paranoid that the thing will bust under my weight.  It has a weight limit of 300 pounds but I still don't trust it too much.

That said I want to start saving up for a ReboundAIR.

www.reboundair.com

These are expensive, about 300-400 dollars, however they have a lifetime warranty, as well as lifetime wear and tear coverage. Meaning- I break a spring, my mat starts to wear out, I get a replacement.  Also their quarter-fold rebounders hold up to 400 pounds.

I probably will start rebounding just doing a simple bounce for a while to strengthen up, then move on to the dancey moves.

Also I really really REALLY need to start cleaning up my diet and going back to being a low carb vegetarian.  That was helping me a LOT.

Have a great weekend guys, get your workouts in for me!

Day 2 pre-BC

Hello everyone!!!

I am simply exhausted.  I just tried doing Tracy's Boot Camp cardio on my rebounder... 10 minutes in and I'm already feeling simply done.  I realize now how weak my legs actually are. However on the plus side- I am feeling more like I actually "worked out", I feel so many muscles burning that I didn't feel burning just step touching on the floor.  So, I realized the trampoline is a good way to efficiently build up my strength for dancing.

What made me want to get back on the rebounder?  Tracy's recent post on her site-

I am NOT coordinated enough to jump as elaborately as Tracy, even on the boot camp dvd, the one leg moves aren't happening... Yet. However I can do the jumping jacks, side twists, etc. The goal is to build up to an hour on it.

Also I read in the book that Gwyneth even had to start out on the rebounder so I don't feel as bad! Better to build strength than to jump in and destroy my legs.

As for MS- might do Mat tonight... I feel pretty tired now so not sure. I may also give the bouncing another go!

9/28/10

Hello!!!

Today was a great day for me, workout wise and diet wise.  This morning I was feeling the pain of a sinus headache (the weather is changing here to autumn), so I slept until noonish and didn't feel like eating breakfast or lunch.  Ate a big but healthy dinner- recipe below.

Beef Stir Fry-

This either serves 4 sort of hungry people or 2 really hungry people. :)

8 ounces of beef (preferably steak, fat trimmed. I used top sirloin)
1 large red pepper
1 large green pepper
1 medium onion
1 carrot
8 oz of baby bella (small brown crimini) mushrooms
2 Tbsp of canola or olive oil
Soy Sauce (to taste)

1. Cut beef into bite sized strips and heat the oil in a wok.  Brown the beef in the oil, then add about 2 Tbsp of soy sauce.  Continue cooking until the meat is fully cooked.
2. Slice all of the vegetables into bite sized pieces. Add them to the cooked meat and cook, stirring frequently until onions are almost translucent.  Add more soy sauce while cooking, to taste.
3. Serve with rice.
1/2 of this recipe has about 450 calories in it, and it's a pretty heaping amount.  I ate that, plus 1 cup of brown rice.

Snack- Motza cracker

Exercise:

I did PD1 but I was quickly reminded how out of shape I am.  Taking two weeks off makes me feel like my body regressed almost all the way back to the beginning.  I am back at just 15 reps per leg movement, and I can't do the bridge movement at all anymore. Well, more to work toward!

I also did 10 minutes of full out dancing/jumping on the rebounder.  That worked me out MUCH harder than dancing on the floor. My legs were on FIRE and my heart rate was really up there, dripping with sweat, red faced, etc... WITHOUT the knee pain and noise that kept me from going all out on my floor.  10 minutes is going to be my new starting point, the goal to add 5 minutes a week. But, I DO love rebounding. If I wasn't so pooped out when I was done, I'd have done more.

Alright, off to bed with me!!!

Day... 50!!!! 9/20/10

Hello!!!

My huge apologies for the lack of blogging in the past week...

Warning: TMI alert!

My period was acting very strangely- I was craving and having pms symptoms (especially fatigue...) and my period came a week late and scared the hell out of me. (No babies, don't worry. Not yet!)  And during my period... I couldn't get out of bed for 3 days.  This hell ended on Saturday (the 18th I believe) and thought Monday was as good a day as any to get back on track!

So... Here goes!

Weight: 256.1- a 1.2 pound loss from last week!

So, let's see what I ate today, shall we?

Breakfast:

2 fresh bananas

Lunch:

Peas
Leftover top round steak- about 4 ounces grilled (fat trimmed off)

Afternoon snack

Protein shake

Dinner:

Corn
Top round steak, about 4 ounces grilled. (fat trimmed off)

Total calories (according to my diet journal app) 1,224.  That's right where I wanna be especially since I did not work out.

Cans of diet soda- 3 (to keep me awake)
Liters of water- 4! (YAY!)
Workout-  I have been awake since 3 pm on Sunday... I could not sleep through the night (my own fault) so I forced myself to be up all day so that I would go to bed at a decent hour.  My body has been aching for sleep all day so I didn't do any workout.  Will do tomorrow.

Also- I am finally getting a rebounder!!! I will be doing my cardio on this for a while build stamina. Dancing on a carpeted floor is harder on my  knees than I thought.  I'll try my best though until my new toy comes.

Good Night, and it's good to be back!
