Hello everyone!

Today is day three of going wheat-free and I really think that so far, this is what is best for my body in terms of feeling healthy and losing my weight.

I have actually found a place to get gluten free chicken nuggets for a cheaper price than normal.  If you have an Aldi supermarket near you, check it out.  The location near me has them in 1 pound packages for about 5 dollars.

Tiny little things (I noticed that seems to be a trend among gluten free chicken nuggets- they're tiny!) but for the price, pretty good.

I also discovered that these (if you like spicy foods) are delicious dipped in good ol' sriracha sauce.

Tasty firestorm indeed.

The other gluten free chicken I have tried were Tyson's and Ian's. To me they all taste really similar, but cost a lot differently.  Aldi brand -> Tyson -> Ian's.

Have you tried any gluten free chicken? How did you feel about it?

Hello everyone!

Today is my second day going gluten free, and as usual, whenever I do this, I feel so much better.  No joint aching, a bit of an easier time getting out of bed today, and I am lighter.

I have been weighing myself every day since the new year started.  Official weigh ins are on Sunday but I weigh daily to keep track of how I react to things.

I have lost 2 pounds literally overnight since yesterday.  That should say something- that I need to f***ing stick to it already.

On another note, I am thinking of video blogging again. Not daily, but perhaps weekly because I have a busy schedule coming up.

I also took a nice long walk today- about a half an hour.  That's all I have time to fit in today, but it's something.

Sometimes a good walk is enough if you keep your diet under control, like I did today.

I hope everyone else had a nice Monday too. Two weeks into the new year, don't give up on your resolutions!

Hello everyone!

Warning: Depressing post ahead.

I am really not liking how I am feeling lately, and I think it has more to do with what I have been eating as opposed to my cold.

I also gained weight. About six pounds since the new year leaving me at my heaviest EVER.   I feel sluggish, tired, and really inflamed in my knees.

Now that the weather is better, I must go grocery shopping and get me some real food.  Grain free if possible, gluten free if not.   I can't fail only  nine days after the new year started. Not acceptable.

On the other hand, I do feel confident to move up in my workouts to the harder beginner workout and adding some dance cardio in there.  The first workout (which I did today) hardly made me feel anything.  I graduated.  At least there's that.  Next step is Metamorphosis.

I can't wait to get back on the horse- I am going to try my best to eat like Tracy- lots of vegetables, protein and minimal grains and dair and lastly NO gluten.

Also back to drinking lots of water and lemon water.

Tonight or tomorrow I will be able to do my shopping and get this show on the road before school starts in a couple of weeks.  Let's do this.

Hello everyone!

It's finally started to warm up (I use the term "warm" very loosely) and I am also feeling a bit better.

I have been reading some things on Tracy in regard to diet and the main points I keep coming across are that she is 100% gluten free due to her being allergic to it (like me) and eating organic food.

Sounds nice, if it wasn't so expensive to eat that way.

Lately I have noticed she is pushing more along the lines of "do my workouts and eat a balanced diet" instead of her old diets involving juices and very low calorie foods. Hrm.

Then again, she is still trying to sell her shakes, vitamins, and her (mega expensive) food plan.

I do like the whole idea of being gluten-free though.  After all, I also feel heaps better when I eat like that, and it even makes exercise easier because of the inflammation leaving my knees.

On a side note, I hear some people are already working out with Tracy via XBOX One.

Buying an XBOX One isn't really in the plans for me any time soon, but if you or someone you know has tried working out with TA using it, let me know how it went in the comments!

Hello everyone!

I still hope everyone is staying toasty warm today.  My workplace finally reopened, and damn... Is it ever cold out! -15 degrees Fahrenheit is nothing to shake a stick at.  Be careful out there.

Jack Frost isn't just nipping at our noses here, he's ripping off our entire faces!

Still not eating as healthy as I'd like, and it's making me feel a bit guilty, and I still have my cold. No fun.  No fun at all.

I have been thinking, I really want to get back into loosely following Tracy's diet.  Lately she has been having a lot of interviews in regard to the subject so I will be reading the latest.  I heard she isn't so into the low calorie diets anymore, so we'll see what I find.

I did do some exercise today, I did walk around for a half an hour at work on my lunch break.  It felt okay to do, a bit hard on my lungs because I am still coughing but at least I got off my butt.

I also feel like I am actually GAINING weight... Not good.

Hello everyone!

Still feeling unwell and cold, but I have been doing some video watching.  I gave workout #2 a preview from the beginner DVD and the first Dance + Cardio dance another viewing and I have to say that it motivated me a bit.

I also have been thinking that I  may be able to "graduate" from that first workout.  I do not feel a burn from it or anything, so that means it's time to move on!

I still have not been able to get to the store with the weather being bad like it has been.  Blistering cold and snowy roads do not make for easy shopping. My workplace was even closed today due to the inclement weather.

I want to get over my cold soon while I still have the motivation to get ahead.  I hope everyone affected by the snow is also staying safe and warm!

Hello everyone

It seems that all of this bad weather and being out in the cold is catching up to me.  Today I am feeling very under the weather, like I have a bad cold. Stuffy nose, sore throat, coughing, etc.

I didn't exercise today, I was in bed until almost 5 pm.  I'm just going to take it easy today and focus on getting better.  Every winter I get sick like this at least once.  As for eating, I just had some rice to eat.  I don't have too  much of an appetite today.

I hope all of you are staying warm and well- don't catch a cold like me!

Have a great day!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the first Friday of the new year~

And what did my area get? Snowstorm number 2. (Still in progress at the time of writing this)

I took a Tracy break today and counted the snow shoveling I did today as my exercise. I shoveled the sidewalk and driveway... Twice. It's that wet snow that's even heavier to move too.

Dramatization: What it looks like on my street right now.

As for eating... I ate a bit crappy again.  I swear I will get on this.  I had takeout Chinese for dinner (beef fried rice and Mongolian beef) but I promise I will cook more real food for this week.  Baby steps. At least I have activity becoming a habit. Going for groceries has been a challenge with this weather (I do not drive either, which is no help!)

How are your new years coming along? Good, I hope!

1/3/2014

Hello everyone!

Today didn't go quite as expected for me, but not necessarily in a bad way, more of a... humbling way.

Dieting went okay, I decided not to really exclude any foods, but watch my portions. (Of course making healthy choices when possible, but not kicking myself for eating something less than stellar)

My meals today:

Breakfast:

1 large banana and 1 cup of coconut milk

Lunch:

A McDouble from McDonald's and a black (no cream no sugar) iced coffee

Dinner:

A hot dog and fries  (as opposed to my usual two or more hot dogs and fries)

My workout: Same as it has been since the new year started, Method for Beginners workout 1.   I wanted to go further but today I honestly just... couldn't.  I wasn't at my limit when I finished but I was aching a little.  On the positive, I do feel myself getting better at it, so I have to keep telling myself it won't be much longer before I can give it a boost.

Also the good part is I am getting into the habit of working out every day, and my winter break from work is coming to a close a bit early, I go back to work on Monday.  That means I am trying to get back into my old wake up habits- early!

1/2/2014

Hello everyone!

Happy second day of the new year!

Today was a lot better than the first- especially diet wise.

For breakfast, I had a banana (I am not usually hungry in the morning).  For lunch, I made Mabo Tofu, which is a Japanese take on Chinese food- it's cubed tofu simmered in bean sauce over rice. Very good.   For dinner, I had some cheese and rice. I wasn't too hungry for dinner.

Workout: I did the TAM for beginners workout #1 again, this time adding the wrist weights.  I definitely felt stronger.  I think in the next few days I MAY be able to add the second workout.   Workout 1 is primarily a primer for the dance cardio, workout 2 is a primer for the muscular structure work.

Actually, workout 1 is getting kind of easy for me (Each of the very few MS movies is only done about 8 times and more like a stretch than a strength builder), but I expected this.  Soon I will add the first combination from Dance + Cardio and do the second workout for my MS, perhaps using workout 1 as a warm up (which it seems very good for in the future).

So, we will see tomorrow what I can accomplish.  I feel like I can do more tomorrow.  Won't know until I try, though.

Idea- I'll try the second workout tomorrow and the non-jumping Dance + Cardio combination. Sounds reasonable.

So, check back tomorrow and see how it went!

Happy 2014!

Hello everyone!

Today is the first day of the new year, and that means new starts all over.

I did my first workout of the new year- and I almost didn't.

In my area, we had a massive snow storm and we got about 10 inches (a little under 30 cm for my international readers) of snow on the ground and that means shoveling.  I shoveled. Twice. I was incredibly sore and almost just went to bed after that.

Then, the little angel on my shoulder convinced me to at least TRY to work out. Just put in the DVD. Try a few minutes. You don't need to finish if you can't. Baby steps.

So I listened to that little angel.  I got the whole first workout on the Method for Beginners DVD done! (Couldn't do more than that- I have been away from Tracy for too long)

I felt it in my butt, I felt it in my thighs, I felt it in my arms, I felt it in my mind too. And it felt good.  I felt more limber and like I was standing up a little better, posture-wise.

I also felt mentally better than if I had just skipped it.  I really need to make this a habit.

What I am going to do is this: Now that I know what my fitness level is, I am going to stick to doing the first workout on the Method for Beginners.  If I feel like I have a little more "oomph", or have a little more time, I will also try the first workout in Dance + Cardio (the one with no jumping)  Today I just had no extra boost. The shoveling did me in, haha.

Also, I did not eat that  great today. I did eat junk, I won't lie.  I had limited access to stuff due to the snowstorm and roads being horrible.  However, I eventually was able to shop and now have better food to eat at home.  Tomorrow, the eating part will be incorporated to the best of my ability.

Oh, speaking of my dieting/workouts, I do have My Fitness Pal, and I do make my diaries public.

Please add me as a friend- my username is asagi722

I also took my measurements and weight today (I skipped those goofy "left and right bikini" measurements but got my chest, waist, hips, thigh and arm measurements and entered them in my profile on Tracy's official site) and will update that on the first of every month. When I am at the point that I am doing Metamorphosis, those stats will be updated every level.

So that's how my New Year's Day started- Not perfect at all, but improvements were made.
