Cravings!!! Ugh!

Hello everyone!

Well, long story short for yesterday, I did get both parts of Metamorphosis done- MS and DC.  Still just 10 reps and 30 minutes of dance.

Today will be day 3- I will have walked for one hour (had class today) and DC is a maybe.  I will do my MS work for sure when I get home.

I have noticed a couple of things about my eating.

1. While better,  I still do not think my habits are as they should be.
2. I am craving, but not craving the same stuff I used to.
3. I am feeling much more tired, faster.

1. One of the major things wrong with my current diet is that I don't think I eat enough vegetables. I only eat them once a day lately and I would like to up my intake to at least lunch and dinner.  I also think I need to be drinking more.  I don't seem to drink very much (tea or water) and while I think I feel okay, when I go to the bathroom my urine is dark- a sign of dehydration (which could explain #3 too)

2. Since I gave up grain- I do not crave them as of late. In fact, I have been craving protein foods (I always have had the occasional protein craving but this is a whole new level). I am pretty sure I am getting enough but I think what I am really craving is the iron.  I have a history of being anemic and I think this is part of it.  I had today 2 small cups of Fage 2% Greek Yogurt (I'll touch on this later in the post), I ate one but still had that craving so I had another. However, there is no iron in yogurt.  Then I started craving beef jerky and picked up a pack of it (wheat free- usually Peppered flavor and Hot Sauce like flavors do not have wheat) drank a liter of Smartwater and wouldn't you know it- I feel a lot better.

3. I am feeling tired as hell, probably from a) not enough to drink, b) not enough sleep and c) mild anemia symptoms.

So, my new goal is to have a protein at every meal- Yogurt for breakfast, nuts or meat for lunch and meat for dinner.  I may even start using my Tracy shake powder (I have some left over) and Clean program shakes (I also have some leftover) as a dessert for that little extra boost of vitamins and such.

Last but not least- I have said that for a fat free yogurt, Fage Total 0% tastes pretty good. That was until I bought some Fage Total 2% last night.  Oh. My. God. I had a tastegasm.  I like plain yogurt, and this was so creamy and rich that it almost resembled a very soft cheese with that tanginess I love.  I think I ate two today also because to me it just tasted so damn good. (The last bite I mixed with a drop of honey- PERFECTION)

Ok, enough out of me for now- Have a great day!

Breaking old habits one day at a time

Hello everyone!

I am going to be starting Metamorphosis this coming Monday, my workout buddy and I have agreed to this, she is currently ill with the flu and my work schedule this week is super hectic and tiresome.

However, I did do well giving up grains today. Got offered cookies (again) but politely turned it down.  With my monthly friend on the way this week (yes, I have been having cravings like crazy) I turned them down and drank some water.  It sucked, but the need for cookies did eventually go away.

Pictured: Those little evil temptresses known as Golden Oreos~!

It's still not easy for me, mentally most of all!  Maybe if I was a bit younger this would be easier to change my habits.

Have any of you had to make a HUGE change? A little change? How was the process for you? Post below!

Day 8 and a change of plan

Hello everyone,

I have come to a conclusion lately concerning my working out. I am really thinking of this weekend being my last Boot Camp weekend. Why? After having tried both Boot Camp and Metamophosis, I find Metamorphosis to be much better suited to my needs.

1.I have found that although my weight on the scale has gone down, I attrtibute that much more to the diet than the boot camp workout. When I was on Metamorphosis before, I was seeing amazing changes to how I looked/measured as well as my weight. With boot camp, the looked/measured part is fairly minimal in comparison.

2.Time. I don't mind spending time cooking for myself, but 2 and a half hours of exercising is just a DRAG for me right now. Meta got me great results in an hour a day. Work days are VERY challenging for doing the boot camp workout.

3.I find the moves in boot camp to be a little much for me (sequences 2 and 3) because of my weight (extra body fat does not allow for easy movement!) , and lack of flexibility, the workouts involving the chair are really awkward and weird for my body. Perhaps when I slim down I can come back to them, but right now it would be just plain insanity. (I have tried them out of curiosity. Hilarity ensued). Meta is on all fours, no chair, and I can focus on form and blast the lard off of me.

I will still be doing boot camp until Saturday, then I will start Omni Metamorphosis level 1 and I of course, will be following the diet.

That said, since I am still on Boot Camp until Saturday, here's Day 8!

Day 8 was not the best day. After I got home from work, my apartment lost power (as did my whole block at least) because a big tree branch fell, downed a power line and landed (and damaged) someone's car. Not helping the fact that it was in the 90s, no power = no air conditioning/DVD player/etc. I ended up not doing my workout.

My diet went well, at least until dinner. I had eaten all of the food I was supposed to eat, but then dinner came and I caved. I ended up eating 2 taquito roll ups from 7-11 and a diet iced tea. Ok, the tea isn't so bad but the roll ups are what I feel guilty about. However, this act deterred me from doing such things again because I ended up paying for it later by feeling run down and with a bit of a stomach ache.

I will continue to eat the boot camp way and do some exercise until Saturday, then I will do my shopping for week 1 of meta and doing my pureeing (I am going to make my week 1 food in batches since its the same thing every day) on Sunday. Very excited!

Day 27- 8/28/10

Hello-

This time, today was a good diet day and a bad exercise day... I really need to break out of this hormonal trap.  My gynecologist even told me you do NOT have to give in to those cravings.  Tips she gave me to try and get around them (that I shall try following now that I remember)

1. If you're craving, brush your teeth.  Food is much less appealing with a minty mouth
2. Not around the toothbrush? Chew minty gum or have a mint.
3. Drink water!

Well today I ate very little because I slept in again... Until 2 pm (like I normally do on Saturday)

I slept through breakfast and lunch, when I woke up I had a shake.

Dinner:

Rice
Japanese style curry with beef

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_curry for those who don't know how it looks/served/what's in it

I also found that a store by me sells Pepsi Throwback.  Pepsi Throwback is Pepsi, but made with cane sugar instead of that high fructose corn syrup crap.  It also tastes a hell of a lot better. They also make Mountain Dew that way too.  I don't know if they sell these outside of the USA, as other countries already make their sodas this way sometimes. (Example- Coca Cola from Mexico)

Exercise: Had a MAJOR case of the lazies/fatigue.  This has not been my weekend.... Monday is also a weigh in AND measurement day~  I am excited to see how my progress is going, if at all.

Day 25-8/26/10

Hello-

I regretfully have to inform you that today, I slipped and fell off the wagon.  How?  I overate today, and did not exercise.  I blame this all on my hormones. Yeah it's about that time of the month for me and considering how I USED to be I am doing better, but still gave in.

Breakfast-

None, slept til noon

Lunch-

Whole wheat pasta and sauce (I started the day right at least)

Snack-

1 cheese danish donut

Dinner-
1 piece of tomato focaccia bread
1 bowl of hamburger helper my roommate made
1 handful of butter toffee peanuts

Exercise- none... However I did decide 10 minutes of cardio isn't gonna cut it. More like do 10 minutes, take a break, do a little more. I noticed a lot of people saw better results when they upped the cardio too.  I will do my best to get off my bum and straighten up again tomorrow.
