As I am always reading up on things, I decided to read a review about the hCG diet that I've been seeing a lot of stuff about lately.
In this article they do a decent job describing what it is and how it works.
The opening line already gave me a warning that this diet can be and probably is unhealthy:
"In December 2011, the FDA and Federal Trade Commission issued warning letters to seven companies marketing over-the-counter hCG products labeled as “homeopathic” for weight loss. The letters warned the companies that they are violating federal law by selling drugs that have not been approved, and by making unsupported claims for the products."
Also, the article goes on to say that people- men and women- are injecting themselves with human pregnancy hormones. That's right, pregnancy. And what miraculous magical work does this do? All it does is allegedly curb hunger and use fat for fuel. That's funny, I never heard of a pregnant woman having DIFFICULTY having an appetite.
My opinion- A much safer way to do EXACTLY what this crap does is either go Paleo or Ketogenic. Eating good food, not injecting weird stuff into your body, and STILL using your body fat for fuel.
Have you or anyone you know thought about or tried the hCG diet?
